
The weather in Punjab has changed drastically after days of heavy rainfall. Multiple districts of Punjab including Jalandhar witness hours of heavy rainfall on October 7. Following that, multiple districts of Punjab are witnessing freezing wind blowing across the state. Due to this, many are wondering Punjab Winter is finally here or not.
Well, AccuWeather forecast confirms that temperature in Punjab will no longer rise in the upcoming days. In fact, the night-time temperature will continue to fall as the day pass.
While Punjab is currently witnessing freezing breeze blowing across, IMD Chandigarh on October 8 revealed which district registered the lowest night-time temperature.
As per IMD, Pathankot registered the lowest minimum temperature. At 14.9°C, Pathankot was the coldest, confirmed IMD.
Apart from Pathankot, Amritsar registered 16.6°C, Ludhiana registered 15.8°C, Patiala registered 16.5°C, Bathinda- 15.8°C, Faridkot- 16.5°C, Gurdaspur- 16.2°C, etc.
For the unversed, in Himachal Pradesh, higher elevations have witnessed snowfall along with rain, contributing to the temperature dip in neighboring plains.
Furthermore, fresh snowfall covered several popular tourist destinations and higher-altitude areas in Kashmir on Tuesday, while the plains experienced rainfall. The wet weather caused a significant decline in daytime temperatures throughout the valley. Among the areas that witnessed snowfall were Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Sonamarg, Aru Valley, Chandanwari, and Kokernag.
Peer Ki Gali on the Mughal Road in Shopian district and Zojila Pass on the Srinagar-Leh national highway also received fresh snowfall.
