To mark the occasion of 350th Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s Saheedi Diwas, public holidays have been announced in multiple states of India including Punjab. In Punjab Government's official holiday calendar, November 25 is a public holiday. It means, all schools and colleges as well as government offices will remain closed in the state on Tuesday.
Notably, school holidays on November 25 is not only limited to Punjab but also to various states and Union Territory, including Delhi. Below is a list of states and UT where schools will remain closed
Delhi CM Rekha Gupta took to her official X handle and announced public holiday in the national capital. "The Delhi Government has decided to declare 25 November 2025 as a Public Holiday to commemorate the sacred occasion of the 350th Shaheedi Diwas of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji," wrote Delhi CM Rekha Gupta.
It means schools, colleges and government offices of Delhi will remain closed on November 25, 2025.
The Uttar Pradesh government has also declared public holiday on November 25, to mark Guru Tegh Bahadur's 350th Martyrdom Anniversary.
According to the official notification, all state government offices, schools, and educational institutions will remain closed. The state government stated that the decision honours the Guru's extraordinary courage and his unwavering commitment to protecting the oppressed, particularly during a period of intense persecution in the 17th century.
The Haryana Government has announced that November 25 (Tuesday) will be observed as a restricted holiday across the state to mark the 350th martyrdom day of Guru Tegh Bahadur.
Chandigarh Administration has also declared November 25 as public holiday. It means, schools and colleges will remain closed.
School holidays are also announced in Tamil Nadu on November 25 however, it is due to rain. As per One India reports, schools will remain closed in Thoothukudi, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari, Kallakurichi, Ramanathapuram, Ramanathapuram, Virudhunagar, Tiruchi, etc.
