The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has warned the Haryana government over pending payments under the Ayushman Bharat scheme saying that private hospitals may stop treating patients if dues are not cleared soon and reacting to this Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s Media Head Punjab Baltej Pannu said that many private hospitals have not received payments for treatments given under the scheme. Due to this, hospitals are facing financial pressure and may refuse to treat patients using Ayushman cards in the coming days.
He added that if the issue is not solved quickly patients who depend on the scheme could face serious problems in getting treatment and according to him healthcare services under the scheme in Haryana are already getting affected as hospitals are not willing to continue without payments.
Pannu also criticized Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini saying he often raises questions about Punjab’s work but should focus on solving problems in his own state.
Talking about Punjab Pannu said that under the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana families are getting free treatment up to ₹10 lakh and said that more than 35 lakh families have already registered under this scheme.
