Two women found murdered in Friends Colony
A double murder was reported in Friends Colony, Batala, on Saturday morning, September 26, after a man allegedly killed his wife and their 10–12-year-old daughter.
The incident came to light when the woman's brother arrived at the house after repeated attempts to contact his sister and niece went unanswered.
According to the information available, the two victims were found lying in a pool of blood inside the house. The woman's brother reportedly broke the lock to gain access and subsequently informed the police.
Brother discovers bodies after unanswered calls
The woman's brother said he usually took his niece to school and had called the family that morning, as he did every day.
When nobody answered his calls, he went to his sister's house in Friends Colony, where he discovered that both his sister and niece had been murdered.
He alleged that his brother-in-law was responsible for the killings and had fled after the incident.
Family alleges accused was addicted to drugs
Speaking about the family's circumstances, the woman's brother alleged that his brother-in-law was addicted to drugs and consumed various substances.
He claimed that substance abuse frequently led to arguments and disputes within the household.
The allegations have not been independently verified, and the police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the killings.
Police launch investigation
The SHO of Civil Lines police station, who reached the scene after receiving information about the incident, confirmed that two people had been killed.
The officer said the deceased woman's brother had alleged that his brother-in-law was responsible for the murders.
Police have initiated an investigation into the double murder. Further action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
