Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has come down heavily on the BJP and other political parties over allegedly ending MGNREGA. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann stated that the BJP has snatched away the employment guarantee of Dalits and the poor by abolishing MGNREGA.
CM Mann has also stated that the Akali Dal is also complicit in this sin with the BJP, which is why they are silent on the abolition of MGNREGA.
CM Mann highlighted that the Aam Aadmi Party will become the voice of Dalits and laborers and will take their concerns to the Prime Minister.
The BJP-led central government, afflicted with a ‘Punjab-Virodhi syndrome’ (anti-Punjab syndrome), is continuously taking decisions against Punjab, said CM Mann.
On one hand, the central government gives subsidies to ‘blue-eyed’ industrialists, and on the other hand, it snatches away the rights of the poor, CM further said.
Punjab CM questioned, "How can India become a ‘Vishwaguru’ (world leader) or a ‘Vikshit Bharat’ (developed India) by snatching away the right to food from Dalits and the poor?"
Running away from the debate exposes Congress's anti-poor mentality and its collusion with the BJP.
CM Mann stated that a resolution was passed in the special session of the Assembly to continue MGNREGA and to protest against the changes made by the central government.
