A shocking incident highlighting a bitter family dispute has come to light from Amritsar, where a woman was allegedly attacked by her own brother with an iron rod. The entire incident was captured on a CCTV camera installed outside the house, showing the woman being brutally assaulted while her father allegedly stood nearby.
Identification of the victim
According to the victim’s family, the woman, identified as Navdeep Kaur, suffered serious injuries in the attack, including fractures in her legs. She is currently undergoing treatment, and her condition is reported to be serious.
CCTV Captures Violent Attack Outside House
The CCTV footage shows the woman coming out of her house when a car arrives at the spot. Her brother and father can be seen stepping out of the vehicle. Moments later, the brother allegedly takes out an iron rod and starts attacking her.
The footage reportedly shows the accused repeatedly hitting the woman with the rod as she screams in pain and tries to protect herself. During the assault, her father remains present at the scene but allegedly does not intervene to stop the attack.
The attack continues until another family member’s wife comes outside, following which the accused brother leaves the spot.
Family Alleges Property Dispute Behind Attack
Speaking to the media, the victim’s brother Mandeep Singh alleged that Navdeep Kaur was attacked by her younger brother and father over a family property dispute.
He claimed that Navdeep had come from Mumbai to meet her family and that her younger brother was angry over her visit. According to him, when she was leaving for her in-laws’ house, she was attacked outside their residence in New Model Town, Khandwala area of Chheharta, Amritsar.
Mandeep alleged that the accused brother wanted to get the entire family property transferred in his name and had earlier also been involved in violent confrontations with relatives. He further claimed that the accused had previously threatened family members and created disputes while allegedly being under the influence of alcohol.
Police Complaint Filed, Investigation Underway
Following the incident, the family approached the police and registered a complaint. The victim underwent a medical examination at the Civil Hospital, and further legal action is expected based on the investigation.
The family has demanded strict action against the accused and urged authorities to ensure justice for the injured woman.
Police officials have not yet issued a detailed statement regarding arrests or further developments in the case.
