A frightening incident took place in SAS nagar, Jalandhar that created panic in the area. As per the information 2 activa riders attempted to snatch a gold with pendant off of a lady’s neck. The incident took place early in the morning on June 24th June. With the bravery of the passerby, one of the accused was caught on the spot.
One of the major information gathered from the report was that the women was brutally stabbed with a sharp-edged weapon. The stabbing caused a lot of bloodshed. The victim is a local doctor’s wife. She stepped out of the house in early hours of the day to feed the stray dogs. The accused allegedly targeted the woman and attacked her before forcibly snatching a gold chain and pendant from her neck.
After committing the crime, the two accused attempted to flee the scene on their scooter. However, their escape was cut short due to the quick thinking and bravery of a passerby who witnessed the incident. The brave man thought to intervene in order to stop the robbery. To do this he rammed his car into the activa of the robbers. Due to the collision, one of the accused fell on the ground, causing a leg injury. The injury was reported as a leg fracture.
Local residents quickly gathered at the spot and managed to overpower and detain the injured accused before he could escape. However, his partner managed to flee the scene with the stolen gold chain and pendant. Upon receiving information about the incident, police teams rushed to the location and took the accused into custody. The injured suspect was provided medical attention before being formally questioned by investigators.
According to police officials, the arrested accused has been identified as Rajan Kumar. During initial questioning, the accused allegedly requested the gathered crowd to take him to the hospital and assured that he would never make such mistakes ever in his life.
Police has launched a detailed investigation into the case and are working to trace the accomplice who escaped with the stolen jewellery. CCTV footage from the surrounding area is also being examined to establish the exact sequence of events and identify additional leads.
