Following the murder of two policemen, identified as ASI Gurnam Singh and Home Guard Ashok Kumar who were gunned down at Adhian village that comes under the jurisdiction of Dorangla Police Station in Gurdaspur district, Chief Minister of Punjab Bhagwant Singh Mann took to his X handle and announced ex-gratia of Rs 1 crore for the families of martyred policemen who laid their lives in the line of duty.
He paid tribute to the bravery and supreme sacrifice of the two personnel and says that their courage and commitment to service will always be remembered. The CM also announced that in addition to the state government’s assistance, HDFC Bank will provide an insurance amount of Rs 1 crore to each of the families of the martyrs.
