Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has sought an appointment with President Droupadi Murmu regarding the recent political developments involving Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MPs in the Rajya Sabha and according to sources from the Chief Minister’s Office Mann plans to travel to Delhi along with Punjab MLAs and during the meeting he is expected to raise the issue of MPs leaving the party and will demand the “Right to Recall” for those who switched sides.

On April 24 seven out of ten AAP Rajya Sabha MPs left the party ahead of the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections and among them, Raghav Chadha, Ashok Mittal and Sandeep Pathak joined the BJP where Chadha claimed that their group still has the support of seven MPs which is two-thirds of the total strength and based on this he said the anti-defection law does not apply to them.

He also stated that MPs like Harbhajan Singh, Vikramjit Singh Sahney, Swati Maliwal and Rajinder Gupta are aligned with their group.
