As part of the special campaign launched by the Punjab Government to tighten the noose around criminal elements, the Commissionerate Police Jalandhar, under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Ms. Dhanpreet Kaur and the supervision of Inspector Surinder Kumar, Incharge CIA Staff Jalandhar, have achieved a major breakthrough by apprehending two active members of the notorious Fateh Group.
The operation resulted in the recovery of five illegal pistols, 10 live cartridges, and 50 grams of heroin from their possession.
Divulging the details, CP Jalandhar said that a FIR No. 82 dated 09.07.2025, u/s 25(1)B, 54, 59 Arms Act, and Section 21 of NDPS Act (added later) registered at Police Station Division No. 2, Jalandhar. During the investigation, the police arrested the accused namely Karanpreet Singh alias Giani alias Fateh, s/o Jaspal Singh, r/o 125 Bank Enclave, Khurla Kingra, Kukki Phab Chowk, PS Division No. 7, Jalandhar and Aman alias Amna, s/o Trisem Lal, r/o House No. 3, Baba Kahan Das Nagar, PS Basti Bawa Khel, Jalandhar. The arrests were made on 27.07.2025. From their possession, the police recovered:
• 04 illegal pistols (.32 bore) with 08 live cartridges
• 01 illegal pistol (.45 bore) with 02 live cartridges
Total: 05 illegal pistols with 10 live cartridges
• 50 grams of heroin
Further investigation revealed that Karanpreet Singh alias Fateh has 16 FIRs pending against him under IPC, NDPS Act, and Arms Act, while Aman alias Amna has 11 previous cases registered under IPC sections, Arms Act, and NDPS Act. Both accused have been presented before the court, and police remand has been obtained for further investigation and questioning.
