A local shop in Bagpur village located in the Hoshiarpur caught fire today at around 8:30 AM. The fire officials were immediately informed about the incident and they reached the spot with three fire department officials to tend to the fire.
Reports suggest that upon the arrival of the fire team the fire was not much, but as the team was preparing to put off the blaze a blast took place in a cylinder lying inside the shop causing an explosion. This led to two out of three officials getting injured in the fire.
Talking about the incident Deputy Commissioner of Hoshiarpur Aashika Jain confirms that two fire fighters have been injured in the fire and they are currently undergoing treatment. She further informs that one of the fire fighters has sustained 4% burns while the other suffered 11% burns, but fortunately both of the injured firefighters are currently stable and are being monitored. She also states that the investigation is in a preliminary state at the moment hence not much information is available and once any development in the case takes place it would be shared eventually.
