

A 2023-based report using official records and earlier disclosures senior Punjab Police officer Gurpreet Singh Bhullar is considered the wealthiest government officers in India.
According to records from the Ministry of Home Affairs Bhullar had declared immovable assets worth around ₹152 crore in 2016.
His property portfolio included:
8 residential houses
4 agricultural plots
3 commercial properties
A 1,500 square-yard plot in Delhi’s Sainik Farms
A commercial plot in central Delhi
Uncultivable land in Mohali valued at around ₹45 crore.

In official filings Bhullar stated that most of these properties were inherited ancestral assets coming from his parents and grandparents.
Bhullar is a 2004-batch IPS officer and has served in several key roles in Punjab, including:
SSP in Mohali and Jalandhar
Police Commissioner of Ludhiana
Currently holding the rank of IGP
Among 2004-batch officers promoted to IGP in Punjab Police.
Bhullar comes from a police family and his father and grandfather Gurdayal Singh Bhullar also served as IPS officers and his grandfather was posted as SSP in Jalandhar between 1957 and 1960.
