
Giving a major relief to the citizens of Jalandhar, Nitin Kohli, Jalandhar Central Halka Incharge from Aam Aadmi Party, along with Jalandhar Mayor Vaneet Dhir, inaugurated the construction work of key city roads today.
The project will cover major junctions including Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Chowk, Football Chowk, Kapurthala Chowk, and Swami Vivekananda Chowk (Workshop Chowk). The estimated cost of the road construction project is approximately ₹3 crore.
Speaking at the inauguration, Nitin Kohli said that this marks a new beginning in Jalandhar’s development. He emphasized that the road construction will not be merely for show but will be durable and of high quality.
“Our goal is not just to build roads but to enhance the convenience and quality of life for every citizen. In the coming months, more roads and infrastructure improvements will be undertaken to make Jalandhar a modern, organized, and accessible city for all. These development works will reduce daily difficulties for the public and provide long-term solutions. Strong roads will ease traffic, boost trade, and offer lasting relief to ordinary citizens. Our aim is for Jalandhar to be recognized among the most developed cities in Punjab in the years ahead,” he added.
Kohli also instructed officials that no negligence or delays will be tolerated during the construction work.
Mayor Vaneet Dhir stated that the road from Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Chowk to Workshop Chowk is among the busiest in the city. “The completion of this road will provide relief from daily problems faced by the public. The project will be executed in phases with the convenience of citizens as the top priority,” he said.
Local residents welcomed the development, appreciating the efforts of the Aam Aadmi Party. Many residents said that road construction had been a long-standing demand, and the commencement of work now promises them lasting relief. The inauguration event was attended by Municipal Corporation officials and party workers.
