The Diwali Bumper draw was held on October 31 in Ludhiana. While the first prize was ₹11 crore, the second and third prizes were worth ₹1 crore and ₹50 lakh, respectively. The total prize pool was an impressive ₹6,691 crore, themed around Lord Ram’s return to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile.

Interestingly, the winner’s identity remained unknown for three days after the draw. Lottery officials managed to trace Amit through local inquiries and phone records. Reports suggest that Amit phone was broken, so he did not know that he won. “I was selling vegetables when a neighbour told me.. Inthought it was a dream.” he said.

Living with his wife Rita and two young children, Amit said his first priority is to repay debts, build a house, and secure his children’s education. Officials confirmed that the winner must claim the prize within 30 days. After tax deductions, Amit will receive the full ₹11 crore amount.
