‘Dry Day’ declared on December 14 in Punjab for polling

The Punjab government has declared December 14, 2025, as a “Dry Day” across the state in view of the upcoming Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections.

As per the directions given by the State Election Commission, Punjab, Excise Commissioner Punjab Jitendra Jorwal IAS has declared the poll day of 14.12.2025 as "Dry Day" w.e.f 00.00 hours on 14.12.2025 to 10:00 AM on 15.12.2025 in the revenue estate of the villages falling in jurisdiction of the Zila Parishads and Panchayat Samitis of the State of Punjab.These orders shall be implemented in letter and spirit in Punjab.

The order mandates strict enforcement across Punjab to ensure peaceful and fair elections. Officials have been instructed to implement these directives “in letter and spirit” throughout the state.
