Punjab Government's Department of Excise and Taxation on Thursday announced dry day on December 14. Dry Day has been declared in Punjab on December 14 keeping Zila Parishads and Panchayat Samitis' election in mind.
IAS Officer Jitendra Jorwal, Excise Commissioner, Punjab, issued an order declaring Dry Day in Punjab on December 14. Now, the question arises whether alcohol sale will be banned in Punjab on December 14 or not?
As per official order, sale of alcohol will not be allowed in 'in the revenue estate of the villages falling in jurisdiction of the Zila Parishads and Panchayat Samitis of Punjab.'
It means this restriction applies to all villages that fall under the jurisdiction of Zila Parishads and Panchayat Samitis in Punjab.
The sale will not be done from 00.00 hours (midnight) on December 14, 2025 to 10:00 am on December 15, 2025.
