ED and Income Tax department raid former minister Sunder Sham's residence in Hoshiarpur

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Income Tax Department has raided the residence of former minister and senior Congress leader Sunder Sham Arora in Hoshiarpur, Punjab toady in the early morning hours. These raids were conducted as a joint operation by the ED and the Income Tax Department. As per information, Vigilance Bureau had earlier too raided his residence and later he was also subsequently arrested by the Vigilance Bureau in connection with two alleged corruption cases.

As per the reports the raids conducted today were in connection with the alleged misappropriation of a large sum of money by benefiting some private companies through some alleged decisions that he made while he served as the Industries Minister of Punjab.   

As per the official sources, the central agencies initiated the search operation at his residence in the early morning hours. The process is expected to continue till a report has been filed in the case. The security was tightened in and around the premises during the search operation. The movement in and out of the residence was also restricted during the operation.
