An investigation into a case involving a bribe worth Rs. 20 lakh has been initiated against a youth leader of the BJP in the Malout town of Punjab and the case has gained significant attention due to its links with several top BJP leaders at state and national levels both and according to information available till now a CBI team headed by DSP Pavitar Singh from Chandigarh conducted a raid at the residence of BJP leader Raghav Goyal whose father is Vikas Goyal in Malout on Monday night. The raid has been conducted as per FIR no. 12/26 dated May 11, 2026, at the Police Station CBI Chandigarh under the provisions of PC Act.
Sources said that when CBI team reached the house neither Raghav Goyal nor his father Vikas Goyal was present there at that time and the search operation reportedly continued for nearly three hours from around 10 pm till about 1 am and during the raid agency is learnt to have seized some documents and cash from premises.

This case has become a major talking point in political circles because of Raghav Goyal’s visible links with many big BJP leaders and his photographs with senior party figures and Union ministers are surfacing online.
Exclusive photographs available reportedly show him with Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, BJP MP Anurag Thakur, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, BJP National President J P Nadda, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and many more such leaders while sources also confirm that he had been invited to attend swearing in ceremony of PM Narendra Modi in the past as well.
According to CBI the case was registered after a complaint was filed by a Punjab State Tax Officer and the complainant alleged that accused Vikas alias Vicky Goyal and his son Raghav Goyal demanded money in exchange for helping close a vigilance complaint against him and CBI also said the accused claimed they were acting as middlemen for senior Vigilance officials including O.P. Rana, who was working as Reader to DGP Vigilance Punjab and the complainant was allegedly assured that the matter would be settled after payment of the bribe amount.
As the investigation continues the case is expected to remain under close watch because of its connection to Punjab Vigilance officials and the accused’s reported association with influential BJP leaders.
However no direct connection between BJP leaders has been established so far but the photographs only suggest that Raghav Goyal may have been close to several senior party leaders.
