A video is doing rounds for the past few days has sparked a discussion on social media. In the video, a man in Police custody was seen dancing in a wedding. While the man performed Bhangra, his hand was seen tied in a handcuff with a Police official present there.
It was stated that the viral video is from Punjab and the man in the video came out of jail to attend a wedding function of his friend. It was further alleged that the prisoner danced in the presence of Punjab Police official.
Punjab Police on November 18 debunked the viral video of prisoner dancing in their custody.
Punjab Police took to its official X handle and fact checked the video stating-
"The video circulating in the media is being wrongly attributed to Punjab Police and was not recorded in Punjab. The uniform style seen in the viral video is not used by Punjab Police.
This is fake and factually incorrect news. Please fact-check information before sharing.
Do not spread rumours or misinformation."
