In a swift move against corruption, Jasveer Kaur, who was serving as Naib Tehsildar of Fatehgarh Churian, was suspended after a video, which showed her accepting a bribe from a Revenue officer (Patwari), was out and went viral on social media.
It is to be reported that as soon as the video went viral on social media, people started questioning the authorities and management, prompting immediate and swift action against the government employee.
Jasveer Kaur accepted money in exchange for the completion of some official work, according to the preliminary information received by the police officials.
While addressing the emergence of the viral video, Additional Chief Secretary of Punjab, Anurag Verma, said that he has issued the suspension order, and reportedly, the step was taken immediately. Following this, he ordered the Vigilance Department to conduct a diligent and thorough investigation of the incident and asked them to arrest or investigate every individual who is involved in the matter.
As per certain sources, directly associated with the case, Jasveer Kaur was caught on camera while receiving a bribe in return for an official favour. The video went viral on social media like wildfire, and the step has drawn sharp criticism from the public, which has been demanding accountability and strict actions against the people involved in the matter.
