An FIR has been registered against social media influencer Bhabhi Ranjeet Kaur and her husband Jinda Hans following a complaint filed by Nihang Manpreet Singh Khalsa. The complainant has alleged that the couple uploaded obscene and objectionable content on social media, which, according to him, is having a negative impact on society and children.

The case was registered at Moti Nagar Police Station under Sections 67 and 67A of the Information Technology Act. Confirming the development, Police commissioner Swapan Sharma said the allegations mentioned in the complaint would be investigated and further action would be taken based on the findings.

Complaint alleges obscene content and misuse of social media

According to the complaint, Manpreet Singh Khalsa alleged that Ranjeet Kaur and her husband regularly upload videos containing objectionable language and content that promote obscenity. He claimed that the nature of the videos could influence children and young viewers in a wrong way.

The complaint further alleges that the influencer appears in inappropriate clothing and visuals and also uses gestures and dialogues that are allegedly objectionable. He also added that she claimed in one of her videos, that police officials had given her permission to use such language and create such content.

Religious sentiments and other allegations

Apart from allegations related to social media content, the complaint also raises concerns regarding alleged actions that have hurt religious sentiments. It further alleges that objectionable remarks were made against Nihang groups through social media content. Police have stated that these allegations will also be examined during the course of the investigation.

Influencer responds to allegations

Reacting to the FIR, Ranjeet Kaur and her husband released a video on social media, claiming that they were being harassed. The couple said they had also submitted a complaint against Nihang Manpreet Singh Khalsa to the Police Commissioner but alleged that no FIR had been registered on their complaint so far. They further claimed to possess evidence against Manpreet Singh and said they would make it public at an appropriate time.

Earlier confrontation

The controversy began a few days ago when a group of Nihangs led by Manpreet Singh Khalsa visited the couple's residence in Ludhiana on June 20th and objected to the content being shared on their social media accounts. The incident reportedly led to a heated argument outside the house and videos of the confrontation circulated widely online.

Police have begun investigating the matter, while no further official statement has been issued regarding the allegations made by either side.
