Tension gripped Jalalabad after a clash between two groups allegedly escalated into a firing incident outside the DSP office, with police arresting two persons and recovering an illegal .32-bore pistol.

Group Allegedly Chases Rivals to DSP Office

According to the police, the incident took place on Thursday night after a fight broke out between the two groups. The confrontation reportedly escalated as members of both sides allegedly pursued each other on motorcycles.

One group, fearing further attack, reportedly entered the DSP office in an attempt to seek safety. The rival group allegedly followed them and opened fire from outside the office premises.

Some of the bullets reportedly struck the DSP office during the firing. The incident triggered panic in the area and prompted an immediate police response.

Two Arrested, Illegal Pistol Recovered

Police subsequently arrested two accused persons identified as Sona Singh and Akash, who are residents of Jalalabad and nearby areas.

Jalalabad City SHO Mohit Dhawan said an illegal .32-bore pistol was recovered from the possession of the accused.

The other miscreants were able to escape the location but police teams are active and investigating on the matter.

Forensic Team to Establish Weapon Used

The police have handed the case over to a forensic team to determine the exact circumstances of the firing.

He stated that one fire was reported and others are under investigation. The forensic examination will establish how many rounds were fired, which weapon was used and whether the recovered pistol was used in the incident. Investigators are also examining other evidence collected from the spot.

More Accused Still at Large

Police said several other persons allegedly involved in the incident remain at large. Raids are being conducted at different locations to trace and arrest them.

SHO Mohit Dhawan said the police were working to arrest all those involved and establish the complete sequence of events.
