In what can be termed as a big relief for the people of Punjab, Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna is finally coming into effect. Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann on Monday in a press conference announced that registration for the Health Card Scheme will begin on September 23rd.
Punjab Healthcard Registration process will begin in Tarn Taran and Barnala districts, with 128 registration camps set up in each district. Residents will be required to bring their Aadhaar card, voter ID card, and a passport-size photo for registration.
CM Mann stated that the registration process will be completed within 10 to 15 days, and the scheme will then be implemented across Punjab. Under this scheme, every family will be provided with a health card, which will enable them to access cashless treatment worth up to Rs 10 lakh per year.
This will include treatment for major operations, surgeries, and critical illnesses. Both government and private hospitals will be covered under the scheme. The Chief Minister clarified that if, for any reason, a person is unable to register, they can still avail of these services by simply presenting their Aadhaar or voter ID. A list of accredited hospitals will also be released soon.
