In a worrisome development, ammonia gas leak was reported at Metro Milk Factory of Jalandhar West constituency situated in Surgical Complex area.
As soon as the information of the ammonia gas leak was received, the administration reached to the spot and started rescue operation. The trapped workers are being taken out by breaking the wall with the help of a crane. It is being told that, 30 people are trapped inside, who are being taken out with the help of a crane.
At the same time, due to the leakage of ammonia gas, people in the surrounding areas have also been alerted so that there is no loss of life.
As soon as the incident was reported, senior officials of the administration and police also reached the spot. The medical team has also been kept on alert so that any injured can get immediate treatment. At present, the causes of the gas leak are being ascertained and efforts are on to control the situation.
