Amritsar Deputy Commissioner (DC) has ordered to shut down all schools of the district for the day on December 12. DC's direction for holiday in Amritsar School on December 12 has been given to ensure 'students safety'. On Friday, multiple private schools of Amritsar received bomb threat via email.
Amritsar DC's official order reads, "..keeping in view the safety of school students and the threats received by various schools, all schools in District Amritsar are hereby declared closed on 12-12-2025 as a precautionary measure."
Notably, at least 15 schools of Amritsar have received bomb threat including Delhi Public School, Manawala, Amritsar, Senior Study School in Putlighar area of Amritsar, etc.
Amritsar Police has issued an official statement into the matter. A video of DCP Law & Order Alam Vijay Singh was posted on official X handle of Amritsar Police in which he informed-
"Today, multiple schools of Amritsar received threat emails. Keeping seriousness of the situation in mind, our anti-sabotage check teams, gazetted officers, and SHOs are visiting schools personally. I request school authorities, parents, and teachers that there is no need to panic. Our Cyber Police Team are tracking the source of email. We will soon get success in tracking the sender."
"Similar emails were received in the past by the schools. We had tracked the sender at that time and it was found that it was mischief of students of school. In such a situation, there is no need to panic."
