In a major development, Cybercrime cell of Ludhiana Police on Wednesday arrested a content creator. The content creator is accused of posting communal tweets inciting disharmony among communities.

In a press conference held by Ludhiana Police, it was revealed that the accused, Arshdeep Singh Saini, had been using his X (formerly Twitter) handle @the_lama_singh to post content that was communal, provocative, and capable of creating disharmony among communities. Saini has been active on the platform since February 2019. He has nearly 13,000 followers.

In the preliminary investigation, the Cyber ​​Crime Police Station reportedly found that the accused shared posts that incited the Sikh, Hindu, and Muslim communities.

Police officials further revealed that the activities and profiles of his followers also indicate that an attempt was being made to spread hatred as part of a planned strategy.

Police registered FIR number 64 in this case on November 28, 2025, under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the IT Act. The accused was arrested in Ropar. Saini had shifted to the UK in 2014. He had returned to India recently.

Ludhiana Police officials are also investigating whether these inflammatory posts on social media are part of a toolkit, which was prepared at the behest of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) to spread unrest in Punjab.
