A major accident came into light on the Shri Guru Ravidas chownk. The accident took place late at night on 29 June,2026 i.e. Monday. The accident involves 2 cars, a Toyota Innova and a Skoda that got into a major collision. There were 3 people involved in the accident who are brutally injured and have been taken to the nearby hospital for treatment. The police reported at he spot after receiving the information and started investigation on the case.
Cause of accident
Talking to the suspects of the case, it was reported that the accident happened on the Sri Guru Ravidas chownk. Both the cars were travelling from Manbro Chowk towards Shri Guru Ravidas Chowk on Monday. They claimed that the administration has created a large road cut at the location, where vehicles merge into the correct lane. However, due to the absence of proper directional signs or information boards, motorists often struggle to identify the correct route. In this confusion the cars collided into each other leading to a major accident
Identification of the people involved
In the preliminary information it was recorded that the Skoda driver is a resident of Nakodar and is identified as Amandeep. He was intoxicated with alcohol and little control over the car. The Innova drivers were heavily injured on the head and had been taken to the nearby hospital before any investigation could take place.
Statements by the locals
According to the eyewitnesses, both the car drivers got confused on the massive cut. The drunk driver was allegedly said to be overdriving on the road side and is that is said to be the major reasons. It was also informed that after the cars met into an accident, the Skoda driver lost his balance because of being under the influence of alcohol. He could not stand upright and talk. While the Innova drivers were immediately rushed to the nearby hospitals and they got a severe head injury leading to a lot of bloodshed. The witnesses added that the accident was so loud and hard that smoke emerged out of both the cars and also caused a traffic.
Condition of the cars
As per the videos shared by our reporters, The Innova was seen struck to the divider and the right side of the car was completely broken while the airbags in Skoda were seen open due to the intense clash. The front part of both the cars was entirely smashed and the tyres of the car also couldn’t keep up with the force and were broken out of place.
Investigation by the police
The police reported at the scene within minutes of receiving the information and got the drunk driver to the police station. CCTV footages of the nearby petrol pump are being examined to know the events of the happening. While medical examination and questioning was done of the Skoda driver.
