Jalandhar Central witnessed a significant political development today as BJP Ward No. 12 councillor Shivam Sharma formally joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). The induction ceremony was marked by the presence of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, AAP Halqa in-charge Nitin Kohli, Mayor Vineet Dhir, senior leaders Kaku Ahluwalia, Saurabh Seth and Sarpanch Balkaran Singh.

AAP leaders say this move is a major boost for party's influence in the city. Sources close to the party credit Nitin Kohli’s vision and strategic leadership for making the induction possible. As halqa in-charge, Kohli has maintained constant engagement with local leaders and workers, coordinating outreach and party activities that have steadily strengthened AAP’s foothold in Jalandhar.

"Shivam Sharma’s decision to switch sides is being seen as a reinforcement of AAP’s credibility and an expansion of its support base in a city traditionally dominated by other parties", said AAP leaders.
