

A team of Railway Officials from Delhi including AGM recently visited the newly renovated Jalandhar Cantt Railway Station. Railway Stations across India are being renovated and upgraded.
Mohit Chandra, AGM of the Railway Department, arrived from Delhi at Jalandhar Cantt Railway Station to review development work. After the inspection, AGM Chandra interacted with the media and gave an update on Jalandhar City Railway Station's upgradation as well.
AGM Chandra talking to the media said, "Our planning is improve the infrastructure of railway stations. Jalandhar Cantt Railway Station has been improved. The remaining work will soon be completed."
"Renovation work of Jalandhar City Railway Station will also be done. Planning to improve Jalandhar City Railway Station is ongoing and hence, I have come here for that. We are seeing what can be improved at Jalandhar City Railway Station."
On being asked about when will renovation work of Jalandhar City Railway Station start, AGM Chandra said-
"Right now it's in planning stage. The work will start once the planning stage gets completed. Things that we are keeping in mind are- smooth passengers' movement, good platforms, and people's convenience."
As per a report published in September 2025, Jalandhar City Railway Station will be upgraded as part of the second phase of the Amrit Bharat Station Project. The report further stated that the Railway Construction Department will be responsible for its construction, which is also currently overseeing the construction of the Jalandhar Cantt Railway Station.
It is expected that the entire station building will be demolished and rebuilt. Due to the scale of the project, it may be completed in three to four phases. This will include renovations to the main building, the second entry, the yard area, the platform extension, and the relocation of the goods warehouse. .
