Giving details, IPS Vineet stated that the Integrated Command and Control Center will operate 24 hours a day. He further stated that traffic violators will get E-Challan within 15-20 seconds.
IPS officer Vineet said, "Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav inaugurated Intelligence Traffic Management System in Jalandhar. We also showcased a demo of the system to Punjab DGP and CP Dhanpreet Kaur. We have installed Visual Display Board at 30 locations of the city. We are making people aware that you all are under CCTV surveillance and if you violate traffic you can issued E-Challan. Many people complain that traffic police does not behave properly especially the Interpersonal Communication thing, so it is a step to minimize such incidents with transparency."
3 things that our cameras will essentially be monitoring are red light violations, overspeeding and wrong-side driving. For now we are trying to spread awareness. We are not making it totally strict for now but slowly after 2 to 3 weeks once awareness spreads, we will strictly operationalise it."
