Punjab has been witnessing biting cold in the month of January 2026. As Lohri is concluded, districts of Punjab continue to witness freezing cold. While most of the districts are recording lowest temperature below 5°C, some districts have also recorded 0.6°C and 0°C.
Jalandhar has been witnessing harsh winter as well. For the past two days, Jalandhar was on red and orange alert for very dense fog. On January 15 as well, dense fog condition persisted (while publishing).
Now, it seems like Jalandhar is expected to record cooler night as compared to Shimla.
As per Apple Weather App, severe cold in Jalandhar is expected to persist in the coming days. In fact, on January 16, lowest temperature in Jalandhar is expected to go below Shimla.
The Weather App predicts that lowest temperature in Jalandhar on January 16 is expected to be 5°C, while lowest temperature in Shimla is expected to be 6°C.
Notably, the highest temperature in Jalandhar as well as Shimla is expected to be 17°C. It means, Jalandhar is likely to be colder than Shimla on January 16.
