Bright sunny mornings and afternoons have finally brought a relief in Jalandhar, Punjab. The city was witnessing severe cold and remaining under a thick blanket of fog. However, since Sunday i.e. January 18, 2026, Jalandhar is witnessing bright sunny weather in the day time.
If you are wondering that cold weather in Jalandhar is finally over, then you should think again. IMD Chandigarh on January 20 put Jalandhar and many other districts of Punjab on thunderstorm and lightning alert. Not only this, but the weather department has also predicted that Jalandhar and other Punjab districts will witness gusty wind of 30-50 kmph.
According to IMD Chandigarh, Jalandhar is expected to witness thunderstorm on January 22 and January 23.
Notably, Apple's weather app has also made a prediction that suggests that Jalandhar is expected to witness two more days of thunderstorm.
Apple Weather predicts that Jalandhar is expected to be hit by thunderstorm on January 27 and January 28.
It means, in total, Jalandhar may witness rainfall along with lightning for 4 days.
Due to rainfall, maximum temperature of Jalandhar is also expected to be dropped sharply. For example, Apple Weather showcases that maximum temperature in Jalandhar on January 22 is expected to be 21°C.
However, after the district is hit by thunderstorm, maximum temperature is expected to be at 15°C on January 23. Lowest temperature in Jalandhar is expected to remain in single digits.
Notably, IMD on Monday issued an alert in which it wrote, "Under the influence of three Western Disturbances in quick succession, a wet spell is likely over the Western Himalayan region during the next 7 days."
