Today, the President of India, Droupadi Murmu is visiting the city. The president is scheduled to visit for the 21st convocation ceremony of NIT, Jalandhar. Keeping this in mind, the Jalandhar Police has issued a traffic advisory for heavy vehicles. The movement of heavy vehicles will remain restricted across the following routes:
1. Lambra
2. Cantt
3. Jandhu Singha
4. Pathankot Byepass
5. Kartarpur
6. Bhogpur
7. Adampur
The President is on a two-day visit to Punjab. And today, she is scheduled to grace the 21st Convocation Ceremony of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Jalandhar as a chief guest. The President Murmu will award degrees to the meritorious students of the institute. As per reports, a total of 1,452 students will receive degrees in undergraduate (B.Tech), postgraduate (M.Tech, MBA, M.Sc) and PhD programs. In addition to this, 31 students will be honored with a gold medal for their excelled academical performance.
