With Jullundur Gymkhana Club's Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled on March 14, the anticipation among those is rising who aspire to occupy the most prominent positions. As per reports, the date for the election of the new management will be declared at the meeting, and as per the rulebook, the election must take place within 45 days of this meeting. This means that the election is likely to take place in the last week of April. Prominent names are coming forward who are likely in the election race - Tarun Sikka, Dheeraj Seth, Prof. Vipan Jhanji, and Amit Kukreja.
With a membership ceiling of 4,400 and around current 4,320 members, the club is one of the most prominent in the city. With limited seats available, big families of the city and prominent bureaucrats involved, the elections for the management of the club are more than an internal affair. They are being closely observed in elite circles in Jalandhar. As the date of March 14 draws closer, the candidates and locals alike are highly anticipating the results.
