
Jalandhar City on Friday witnessed a major uproar. Dispute erupted over 'I Love Muhammad' row in Jalandhar continued almost 4.5 hours in the city where protestors sat on the roads demanding for justice for Yogesh.
After assurance from the Police and filing of FIR, the Hindu outfits sitting on a dharna finally ended their protest. However, the outfit gave the Police an ultimatum to arrest the accused in the case as soon as possible, else protest will resume.

At 4 pm on Friday, members of a Muslim organization, marching to submit a memorandum to the Police Commissioner, were chanting "Allahu Akbar" and "I Love Muhammad."
Thereafter, a man named Yogesh riding a scooter raised "Jai Shri Ram" slogans in response. It sparked an altercation near Press Club Chowk. Yogesh alleged that he was threatened, assaulted, and his scooter keys were snatched.
The incident sparked a major protest in Jalandhar City. Hindu outfits gathered at Press Club Chowk at 5 pm. Slogans of Jai Shri Ram started echoing on the streets. Police officers reached the spot. Many leaders including former MLA KD Bhandari, Sheetal Angural reached the spot and blocked the BMC Chowk at 6 pm.
On this matter, Jalandhar's Deputy Commissioner of Police, Naresh Dogra,, said-
"Later this afternoon, members of the Muslim community were holding a march regarding the incidents taking place in Bareilly and were proceeding to submit a complaint against the Uttar Pradesh government. During this, an individual raised ‘Jai Shri Ram’ slogans, which led to a dispute. Initially, that person told the police that no action was required, but now a formal complaint has been received. We are retrieving CCTV footage, and whatever action is necessary will be taken at the earliest.
As per reports, Hindu outfits have called for a gathering at Shri Ram Chowk in Company Bagh at 11 a.m. today. Hindu organizations have given the police an ultimatum till Saturday, demanding the arrest of the accused in the case.
Hence, areas surrounding Shri Ram Chowk in Company Bagh Jalandhar is expected to witness heavy traffic today.
