Parents of late Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu popularly known as Sidhu Moosewala, Balkaur Singh and Charan Kaur recently made it to the headlines after staging a protest outside the Mansa SSP office on Wednesday. The protest was held in order to put forth their grievance and demand an action into the alleged financial irregularities involving their late son’s earnings.

Talking about the case during the protest, Moosewala’s parents alleged that the Mansa Police have not registered a FIR despite a complaint being filed by them regarding the misuse of the money generated from Sidhu Moosewala’s social media accounts. They were given assurance from the DIG Harjeet Singh affirming that an action would be taken in this regard within two days, following which they ended their protest.    

What is the complaint made by Sidhu’s parents?

Reportedly, Balkaur Singh has named the late singer’s manager Bunty Bains along with Shabir Momin (OneDigital) and Gurpreet Singh Bhasin in their complaint accusing them of fraud. Sidhu Moosewala was murdered in 2022, but his songs continue to be released which garner millions of plays and views. Now, Moosewala’s parents have alleged that they are being cheated of the earnings, hence they have filed a complaint regarding the same naming three digital marketing promoters.

Talking about the conflict, Balkaur Singh shares that the company holding the marketing rights to the late writer-rapper’s tracks has failed to share the financial audits and royalty payments for over a year now. He claims that they have been deprived of the income that is being generated by their son’s work. 

Bunty Bains comes forward; clears the air

Following the recent protest by Moosewala's parents that gained a lot of traction in the media, now one of the accused named in the complaint, producer Bunty Bains has come forward and responded to the allegations. He took to his Instagram handle and posted a series of posts explaining his side of the story. Bunty Bains has clarified that he has been constantly been in touch with Sidhu Moosewala’s parents on WhatsApp. Clarifying his stance, he has made his side of the story public claiming their was no wrongdoing on his part. He shares some evidences showing conversations between him and Shabir Momin (OneDigital) as well. He also adds that he has no hard feelings for Sidhu Moosewala’s parents and says that he understands that sometimes situation gets heavier and becomes difficult to handle.

Talking further about the case he says that he has introduced hundreds of artists to the Punjabi industry with pure intentions and hard work. He claims that if he had been a fraud then he wont be where he is today.

Moosewala’s legacy lives on

Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead on May 29, 2022, near his village in Mansa district. Sidhu, who was 28 years old at that time was attacked by assailants who fired more than 30 rounds at him, killing him. The very first song of Sidhu that was released after his death was ‘SYL’ released in June 2022 that talked about the controversial issue of Sutlej-Yamuna Link canal project. The song garnered millions of views in a very short period before it got legally restricted in India. Following this song like ‘Vaar’, ‘Mera Na’ and ‘Drippy’ were released gaining lots of love and appreciation from the audience.
