The Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) has assigned additional charge as Link Officers to two senior IPS officers. The order will come into effect immediately.
According to the order issued from the office of DGP Punjab (Secret Branch-1) vide No. 23215-28 / Khufia Gas-1(1) dated 12.10.2026, till further orders, the additional charge has been given as under:
1. P.K. Sinha, IPS, Special DGP, Law and Order, Punjab, Chandigarh
He has been given the additional charge of Special DGP, Human Rights, Punjab, Chandigarh.
2. Anita Punj, IPS, Special DGP, HRD and Welfare, Punjab, Chandigarh
She has been given the additional charge of Special DGP, Policy and Rules, Punjab, Chandigarh and Special DGP, Railways, Punjab, Chandigarh.
It is worth mentioning that both officers are of the 1994 batch and are a husband-wife IPS couple. Both were promoted to the DGP rank together last year, which was considered a rare instance in Punjab Police.
