

The Punjab Police has carried out a major reshuffle of 129 DSP-rank officers across the state for administrative reasons as approved by the Police Establishment Committee and as a part of this transfer list Rajesh Thakur has been posted as the new ACP SD Central Jalandhar. He was earlier serving as DSP in PBI Homicide and Forensics in Sri Muktsar Sahib.
He replaces Ajay Singh, who has now been transferred from ACP SD Central, Jalandhar to ACP PBI NDPS-cum-Narcotics in Amritsar. According to official orders all officers have been directed to leave their current postings immediately and join their new positions by April 18, 2026 (afternoon). Police offices have also been asked to send reports confirming the joining and relieving of officers.
