Ludhiana man gunned down in broad daylight amid old rivalry

A young man from Ludhiana, Punjab was reportedly shot dead in broad daylight, on Monday. Initial reports indicate that the deceased was associated with a kabaddi player, and due to some rivalry an armed assailant opened fire on the youth near a grain market in Manuke village, located in Jagraon. After being shot the youth collapsed on the ground and was rushed to the hospital. Upon arriving at the hospital, the youth died while undergoing treatment.

The deceased has been identified as Gagandeep Singh, 32, who was a father to three children. Upon receiving the information about the incident, Hathur police station in-charge Kuldeep Singh, along with his team reached the spot and inspected the crime scene. The family of the victim has told the police that their son was murdered due to old rivalry related to a kabaddi player. Police have assured that the case is under probe and a hunt for the accused is on.
