
In a shocking development, a woman named Prakash Kaur has been booked for hurting religious sentiments in Ludhiana, Punjab. The woman stripped her clothes inside in front of Guru Granth Sahib Ji and even threw them in front.
As soon as the woman started removing her clothes, the sangat rushed towards her and controlled her. Notably, the outburst by the woman took place in front of her husband. The reason behind the shameful act is yet to be ascertained.
On the complaint filed by Jaswant Singh Cheema, a member of Akali Dal Punjab (Waris Punjab De), the Sahnewal police have registered a case against Prakash Kaur under Section 298 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for hurting religious sentiments.
Cheema in his statement said, "I came to know on social media that on 21st August, in Gurdwara Sri Ravidas Ji Maharaj under village Jugiana police station Sahnewal, a woman Prakash Kaur, in the presence of her husband Harbhajan Singh, took off her clothes in the presence of Sri Guru Granth Sahib and threw the clothes there."
Cheema alleged that the incident occurred on August 21 and that Harbhajan Singh, the husband of the accused, was also complicit in the act. “By committing this act, Prakash Kaur has deeply hurt the religious sentiments of the Sikh community across Punjab,” Cheema said in his statement.
The woman is yet to be arrested.
