

A couple from Maharashtra on a trip to Punjab got caught in a grim event in Amritsar - inside a lodge room, the woman was reportedly choked to death, while her partner susceptible took his own life soon after. Cops think it may have erupted out of marital fights; however, they’re still investigating to know what really happened.
The cops say the couple reportedly identified as Ganesh Sonkar and his wife Sita, belongs from Thane, Maharashtra. The couple visited Amritsar on Dec 2, and resided at Lala Pragyadass Dharamshala close to the train hub.
The staff employee said that they remember the couple saying that they wanted to roam around in the town.
Complete contact details of the couple were in the guest log, which made it possible for the police officials to identify the couple.
On 8 December, workers at the dharamshala said they spotted Ganesh walking out about 4 pm - mentioning he’d come back by night to settle the room fee. That evening, close to 9 pm, staff headed to his room, rapped on the door several times, yet they got no answer from the room, which made things suspicious.
The dharamshala staff called the cops. And in no time the investigating team reported at the spot. The cops broke into the shut room. Cops say they spotted Sita inside, lifeless on the mattress, neck bruised, on the prima facie note it appeared the reason of death is choking. The team collected the ID proofs of the couple from the crime spot. The CCTV footage was considered as primary evidence. Analysing the CCTV footage the police acknowledged that the man walked out alone at around 4:00 pm.
While the police team was investigating the crime spot. The news came that a man at Jandiala jumped in front of a speeding truck. So far the police have registered the case as self killing and no person is accused of causing a death by accident.
Police suspect that a fight would have erupted among the couple and that mounted to this level that a murder followed by a suicide. The police are investigating all the possible angles. All the CCTV footage have been collected to further examine the case.
