The Punjab government has declared a public holiday on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti in 2026 and as per the official holiday list Tuesday, March 31, 2026 will be observed as a gazette holiday across the state and on this day government offices will remain closed and along with this many schools, colleges and other public institutions are also expected to remain shut.
The holiday has been announced by the Punjab Government under its official notification for the year 2026, however essential services such as hospitals, police and emergency services will continue to function normally and private offices may remain open or closed depending on their own policies.
