In a quick administrative move Bhagwant Mann has reassigned important government departments after the resignation of former minister Laljit Singh Bhullar and two senior ministers have been given additional responsibilities:
Harpal Singh Cheema who is already handling the Finance Department will now also take care of the Transport Department which means he will manage both the state’s finances and transport-related work.
Dr. Ravjot Singh currently in charge of NRI Affairs has been given the additional responsibility of the Jails Department now.
The reshuffle comes after Bhullar stepped down on March 21 after his resignation following serious allegations linked to the suicide of Gagandeep Singh Randhawa a District Manager with the Punjab State Warehousing Corporation. Before his death, Randhawa had released a video accusing the minister of harassment.
