

A court in Jalandhar on Tuesday sent Harminder Singh alias Rimpy on 9-days police remand. Rimpy has been arrested in the murder of 13-year-old girl in Jalandhar West area. He has also been charged under POSCO act. ADCP-2 Harinder Singh Gill addressed the media and informed that the Police will strictly carry out investigation and question the accused on how did he carry out the crime.
Harinder Singh Gill further informed that the dismissal of ASI Mangat Ram is also under consideration. As of now, Mangat Ram has been suspended and has been sent to lines.
ADCP-2 Harinder Singh Gill said, "Today we presented the accused in front of honorable court. We had sought 10 days of remand. However, the honorable court has granted us 9-days of remand. Inquiry will be carried out strictly and whatever development comes up will be shared in due course of time. We have taken him on remand and we will try to come out with details including how he murdered the victim. We will try to find out if there is anything he used to carry out the crime."
"The case will be fast-tracked only after we present our challan in the court. Once we file our challan, then we will file an application requesting to conduct the trial of the case in a fast-tracked manner."
