

A shocking incident has come to light from Ludhiana where a man impersonating a waiter robbed a bag full of gold jewellery during a shagun ceremony that was being held at a resort. Allegedly, the jewelry stolen mounted to Rs 1 crore.
The entire incident was captured on the venue’s CCTV cameras and currently a police probe is underway into this matter. As per reports, the incident took place on Sunday afternoon at a shagun function that was organised for the daughter of a Ludhiana-based jeweller. The ceremony was taking place at the Sterling Palace situated on the Pakhowal Road. The reports sugges that the guests attending the ceremony were occupied with food and other celebratory rituals when the accused took advantage of that and snuck into the venue in the disguise of a waiter.
Upon inspecting the CCTV footage, it was revealed that the around 5 PM, a man wearing a white shirt and black trouser entered the venue. Allegedly, the accused had conducted a recce of the area before committing this crime.
After learning about the incident, the to be bride’s family members immediately informed the palace management about the incident, later the police were also informed. Upon reaching the spot the police cordoned off the palace and detained the staff present there for questioning. As of now the police has received no lead in the case and are currently probing the CCTV footage to crack the case.
