A major fire broke out at Hungry Point Restaurant, located near Jhandiya Wale Peer, on Wednesday, triggering panic in the area. Within minutes, the flames engulfed the entire restaurant, destroying furniture, electronic equipment and other valuables. Preliminary estimates suggest that the incident has caused losses worth several lakh rupees.
Information to the owner
According to owner’s mother, the fire was reported to them by workers inside the restaurant and people of the local market. However, it was too late for them to arrive and get things under control. Each and every item in the restraint caught fire and turned into ashes
Rescue team at the spot
As soon as the fire was reported, multiple fire tenders rushed to the spot. Firefighters battled the blaze for a considerable time before successfully bringing it under control, preventing it from spreading to nearby shops and buildings.

Family’s reaction on the incident
The restaurant owner and family members were left devastated by the incident. According to the family, the restaurant had been established through a bank loan of 35 lakhs and around 1.5-2 years of hard work, but everything was reduced to ashes within a matter of minutes.
Statements by the fire team
Talking to the fire officials, it was reported that the they received a fire call after 15-20 minutes of the accident and they reached the spot within time. It was told that around 2 fire trucks have been utilised in controlling the fire and no furniture was saved in the fire. Everything turned into ashes. He also informed the media that no fire safety systems were installed in the restraint. The cylinders in the restaurant were however safely taken out.
Family’s appeal to the administration
The family has appealed to the administration to assess the damage and provide financial assistance to help them recover from the loss.
