

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader, industrialist-turned-politician and Punjab Cabinet minister Sanjeev Arora has emerged as the richest MLA in Punjab with declared assets crossing ₹300 crore along with his wife and according to his affidavit submitted to the Election Commission Arora has declared net assets worth around ₹278 crore in his own name and when combined with the assets of his wife Sandhya Arora the total family wealth goes beyond ₹301 crore making him the wealthiest MLA in the state.
As per official details:
Total assets (with spouse): ₹301 crore
Movable assets: ₹268 crore
Immovable assets: ₹10.36 crore
Cash in hand: ₹78,845
Bank deposits & investments: ₹2.71 crore
Investments (shares, bonds, mutual funds): ₹254 crore
Jewellery: ₹2.14 crore
Vehicle: Toyota Fortuner worth ₹38.06 lakh
Liabilities: ₹19.43 crore
Most of his wealth comes from financial investments like shares, bonds and mutual funds which alone are worth over ₹250 crore.
With this Arora has gone past Kulwant Singh who had declared assets worth ₹238 crore in the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections and other wealthy political names in Punjab include Sukhbir Singh Badal and Harsimrat Kaur Badal who had declared combined assets of over ₹200 crore largely from agriculture and business and Congress leader Rana Gurjeet Singh also remains among the top high-net-worth politicians with assets above ₹125 crore.
