

Punjab Horticulture and Defence Services Welfare Minister Mohinder Bhagat, Jalandhar Central Halka Incharge Nitin Kohli, Jalandhar Mayor Vaneet Dhir, and Advisor to the Punjab Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department Deepak Bali today dedicated the newly renovated Guru Nanak Mission Chowk to the public.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister, Central Halka Incharge, Mayor and the Advisor Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department said that the Punjab Government has launched a distinctive initiative to refurbish major chowks and intersections across the city.
As part of this drive, several roundabouts have already been transformed with modern designs and enhanced aesthetic features. They added that multiple private organizations have also been involved to ensure long-term maintenance of these upgraded intersections.
The dignitaries noted that the renovated chowk will not only offer commuters a refreshing and pleasant view but will also contribute to the city’s broader beautification efforts.
Cabinet Minister Mohinder Bhagat praised the Jalandhar Municipal Corporation for leading the renovation campaign and said that its proactive role has significantly boosted the city’s visual landscape.
He instructed officials to regularly monitor the upkeep of these chowks and coordinate with the partner organizations responsible for their maintenance, ensuring that their charm is preserved for years ahead.
He further added that residents will soon witness large-scale improvements at several more intersections, giving Jalandhar a fresh, vibrant, and modern view.
