Richi Kaypee accident case has turned out one of the most talking point for 2 days in Jalandhar, Punjab. 36-year-old Richi Kaypee, son of former Jalandhar MP, Mohinder Singh Kaypee, died in an accident on late Saturday night. Richi Kaypee was driving a Fortuner when it suffered multi-vehicle collision with Creta and Grand Vitara.
On the complaint of SAD leader Mohinder Singh Kaypee, an FIR has been filed against both the owners of the car- Creta and Grand Vitara. The driver of Creta has been identified as a businessman named Prince.
Now, the family of the man who was in Grand Vitara has come forward and explained their side of story. Below is what the family of the man who was driving Grand Vitara said-
Sudha Kapoor, mother of the man who was driving Grand Vitara, said, "The Grand Vitara car belonged to us. Creta hit the Fortuner, then the Fortuner hit my child's car. The car (Grand Vitara) after being hit went through the grill. After being hit, my child almost fainted. People nearby then took my child out, we were totally confused."
"Some people brought my child to a hospital. There were 3 people inside the car during that the time of the accident. My daughter-in-law, my son and their 8 year-old daughter. All of them suffered injuries, especially my son."
"Earlier, the Police was taking action against Creta. But, now our name is also in the FIR. All CCTV footages must be seen and action must taken against those who are at fault."
"We are also very sad for the child who died (Richi Kaypee). The one who died was also like our son. FIR against us is very wrong. 'Jedi FIR bana ditti wo bohat galat kitti inhone, pehle sahi ki but kal se bilkul change kar di' (The FIR they filed was completely wrong. At first, they did it correctly, but from yesterday onward, they completely changed it).
Vikrant Kapoor who is cousin of the man in Grand Vitara said, "Whatever happened it was wrong. An accident took place when my brother was going from Mata Rani Chowk to Model Town. He was going in his own lane at a certain speed. Creta and Fortuner met with an accident. Thereafter, the Fortuner collided with Vitara. The Vitara car was not at fault."
"In fact, after getting rammed Vitara went through a grill of a showroom. We request CCTVs from all angle should be examined and not only one. There are many showrooms there, CCTVs from all angle should be investigated."
"We are ourselves victims and taking action against us will be wrong. We are seeing some bias is going on and request CP to give us justice as well. My cousin has also suffered injuries. His chest is injured and a piece glass has hit his abdomen as well. He is also under serious condition, City Scan will determine the rest."
Mohinder Singh Kaypee in his complaint said-
"(Translated Version) On 13.09.2025, after finishing some personal work, my son and I were returning from Model Town to our home. I was travelling in my Marazzo car... while ahead of me, my son Richie Kaypee was driving his Fortuner car."
"When we reached near Bata Showroom at Mata Rani Chowk, Model Town, Jalandhar, one car (Grand Vitara) suddenly came in front of my son’s vehicle. Immediately behind that, another car (Creta) came at very high speed and rammed into my son’s Fortuner.
As a result of this collision, my son Richi Kaypee died on the spot. I placed him in my vehicle and first took him to Global Hospital and then to Patel Hospital for treatment. However, after examination, the doctors declared him dead.
The death of my son was caused due to the rash and fast driving of both the said car drivers. Legal action should be taken against them."
