Jalandhar Central Halka In-charge and Aam Aadmi Party leader Nitin Kohli on Monday inaugurated a volleyball court in Ward No. 12 under the ‘Fit Central’ campaign.
The volleyball court is expected to be completed within a month. The initiative has been undertaken with the objective of connecting youth with sports and promoting a healthy and active lifestyle in the area.
Addressing the people present on the occasion, Nitin Kohli said that sports are not merely a source of entertainment but form a strong foundation for the physical, mental and social development of youth.
He emphasized that in today’s time, promoting sports is extremely important to keep young people away from drugs and negative activities.
Sharing details, Nitin Kohli said that under the ‘Fit Central’ campaign, sports and fitness-related facilities are being continuously developed in different wards of the Jalandhar Central Assembly Constituency. The construction of the volleyball court is an important part of this initiative so that local children and youth can practice in their own area and enhance their talent.
He further stated that it is the priority of the government and the party to ensure such sports facilities in every ward, where youth can move forward with positive energy. He added that many more sports projects will be launched in the coming time to make Jalandhar Central a fit, healthy and active constituency.
On the occasion, local residents and youth expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Nitin Kohli for the ‘Fit Central’ campaign and the construction of the volleyball court.
They said that this initiative will provide a great opportunity for children and youth of the area to progress in sports and ensure their physical and mental development.
A large number of local dignitaries and youths were present at the event, including Councillor Shivam Sharma, Manish Sharma, Sanjeev Trehan, Dheeraj Seth, Parveen Pabbi, MB Bali, Shivam Sharma, Raju, Kamal Bhullar, Jassi Bring, Mohit Sharma, Arunjit Singh, Bhupinder Bring, KK Paul, Lakhvir Singh Ring, Yodhi Bring, Balwinder Singh, Amritpal Singh, Sukhwinder Singh, Daljinder Singh, Baldev Singh and Balbir Singh Toot. All of them appreciated the ‘Fit Central’ campaign and thanked Nitin Kohli for the initiative, calling it an important step for the youth of the region.
At the end of the programme, Nitin Kohli appealed to all youth to make sports an integral part of their daily lives and contribute towards building a healthy, strong and drug-free society.
